Key points include Hermes’ Executive VP, Christian Blanckaert, declaring an end to “pop luxury”; the fleeting, temporal fix with fast fashion. Instead, he proposes a shift in the focus of luxury consumers to fashion that can be considered a long term investment, since these pieces of clothing and accessories have a longer shelf life and more value over trendy, short-lived counterparts. It’s a compelling argument, and a read that shouldn’t be missed.
